Wolf portrait session with Londe.

London portrait photographer

I am so excited about sharing these portraits on my blog. Last year I created the wolf sessions. I really wanted to have an offering that wasn’t about business. Portraits that were just for people to take up space and celebrate themselves. To be embodied and expressive without needing to show up for a business or a brand.

I feel like the world we live in now requires us to have this branded version of ourselves that feels so incredibly performative even if it is an act of survival. So I wanted to explore sessions where we removed as much of that as possible. I was finding that it was a natural byproduct of my brand photo shoots, as we got to the end of a session my client would become more and more embodied and confident in themselves and that’s where we could really play.

This is my least booked package which makes me incredibly sad. People are still not quite there with feeling like they can give themselves permission to take up space in this way. That it’s over indulgent or a vanity project. That’s why I am so in love with this wolf session I did with Londe.

Londe enthusiastically contacted me earlier in the summer because she was in London for a week, loved my work and wanted to celebrate herself for her 40th. I absolutely loved her energy and we planned a late afternoon session on Hampstead Heath.

I LOVE these portraits. And I loved the session. Londe has the most incredible presence and is so embodied. I actually feel like that is the key to having a successful portrait session. Being able to be embodied and present, to be able to move and express yourself, comfortable in your skin. A goal we should all be striving for.

The light was perfect and Londe had two very different but wonderful outfits. I absolutely loved the second one (green dress) which gave me such Tim Walker vibes, it felt like we were making art together as we filled the space with Londe.

This is what being witnessed as your full wonderful self looks like!
